Alhamdulilahi,This is present in the era of the Messenger of Allah - ﷺ - and before and after it, and for this reason the Prophet, ﷺ, forbade going to soothsayers, and about asking them. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever comes to a soothsayers and asks him about something, his prayer for forty nights will not be accepted for him, and Muslim narrated it in his Sahih. And he, peace be upon him, said: whoever come to a soothsayers and believe what he says, for he has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad, [peace be upon him.]It is obligatory not to go to them, not to ask them, and not to believe them, even if what he says is correspond; Because the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade going to them and asking them, and he forbade believing them, and this is the duty of everyone, and to follow in treating the sick what Allah has permissible in medicine from what doctors know.
