The Almighty said
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنْدَادًا يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ يَرَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِذْ يَرَوْنَ الْعَذَابَ أَنَّ الْقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعَذَابِ.[البقرة ١٦٥]
And of the men there are some who set up equals (idols, partners) with Allah. They love them (what they take for partners, associates) as they love Allah. (Yet) those who are Amenu (who believe) are stronger in love for Allah. If only those who tyrannize could have seen that during the torment, the Power is wholly Allah’s and that Allah is Severe in torment (punishment) [baqara Ayah 165].
The love of Allah is one of the greatest places of worship on it that revolves around obedience and walk to Allah, because it leads the believer to closeness and his desire to turn to Allah, and endures hardship and trouble for the sake of pleasing Allah and winning his paradise.
And again, the love of Allah is giving preference to the love of Allah over what else it is by adhering to His command and avoiding prohibiting it and following His Messenger, may Allah’s bless and peace be upon him in every big and small, and following his path, and love the people muslim, this lead to victory and affection, spending faithful love for every beloved of Allah and keeping away from everything that offends Allah and contradicts His love, and the condition of love for Allah. Charity at work and following Sharia. Love is not valid and a claim from anyone is not accepted unless he agrees with the correct action.
The Almighty said:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَن يَرْتَدَّ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِي اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَهُ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ (سورة الماءدة ٥٤)
O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.[Surah maidah Ayah 54]
And the Prophet "Muhammad" may Allah bless and peace be upon him said: "A man would not have attained faith until and unless he loves Allah and His Messenger more than anything else." "Al-Bukhari" When angel of death came to take the soul of Prophet Ibraheem may Allah exalt his mention the latter said, "Have you ever seen a friend take his friend's life?" To that, Allah replied, "Have you ever seen a friend unwilling to see his friend?" Then Ibraheem may Allah peace be upon him said, "O Angel of death! Take my soul!" The Prophet "Muhammad" may Allah bless and peace be upon him ) taught the following supplication to his Companions,
اللهم اجعلني أحبك وأحب من يحبك ، وأحب كل ما يقربني من حبك ، واجعل حبك أغلى لي من الماء البارد للعطشان.
O Allah, allow me to love You and to love those who love You, and to love whatsoever brings me nearer to Your love, and make Your love more precious to me than cold water to the thirsty.
Oh Allah, make us those who love you, and those who obey you in all matters.
